Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026 · Applies to zibukeoncall.co.za and all sub-pages.
Your privacy is something we take seriously. We protect your personal information the way we would want ours protected, fully in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act.
1. Who we are
Zibuke OnCall is part of the Services Division of Zibuke Africa (Pty) Ltd. We run the website zibukeoncall.co.za and provide appliance collection, repair, and delivery services to homes across South Africa.
If you have any questions about your privacy, you can reach us directly at [emailprotected] or call us on +27 18 007 0525. We are here to help you.
2. What information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Your account details such as your name, email, phone number, and password (we store your password securely in a scrambled format).
- Information about your appliances including the type, brand, model, and serial numbers of the items you register with us.
- Your payment information such as your chosen plan, how often you pay, the amount, and the sales representative who helped you.
- Your booking details including your collection address, preferred date and time, and a description of what is wrong with your appliance.
- If you apply for a job with us, we collect your name, email, phone, location, and your responses to three short questions.
- When you contact us through our form, we collect your name, email, phone, subject, and your message.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Standard server logs that include your IP address and browser type. Cloudflare keeps these records to protect the site from security threats.
- General website statistics such as page views and where visitors come from. This information does not identify you personally.
3. Why we collect it
- To deliver the service you signed up for. We need your information to collect, repair, and return your appliances.
- To keep you updated on your bookings and repairs. You will receive confirmations and status updates so you always know where your appliance is.
- To process your job application or respond to your message. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
- To meet our legal obligations under South African tax and accounting law.
- To protect your account from fraud and unauthorised access. We monitor for suspicious activity to keep your information safe.
4. Where your data is stored
Your data is stored securely in Cloudflare D1, a database that runs on Cloudflare's global network. We protect your password by converting it into a scrambled format using industry standard security methods. Your actual password is never stored in a readable form and is never written to our logs.
5. Who can see your data
Only the people who need your information to help you can see it. Here is exactly who has access:
- Your sales representative can see your name, phone number, and appliance details so they can assist you properly.
- Our technicians and drivers can see your booking details including your address and what is wrong with your appliance so they can collect or repair it.
- Managers and supervisors see team performance summaries, not your personal details.
We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. Your data stays with us.
6. Cookies and local storage
Our website uses minimal browser storage to give you a better experience:
- We use sessionStorage to keep you logged in while you browse. This clears automatically when you close your browser tab.
- We use localStorage to save your appliance and booking information on your device so the site works even when your connection drops. You can clear this by clearing your browser data.
We do not use advertising cookies or track you across other websites. Your browsing habits are your own business.
7. Your rights under POPIA
You have real control over your personal information. Here is what you can do:
- You can ask us to show you what personal information we have about you.
- You can ask us to fix or update any information that is wrong or outdated.
- You can ask us to delete your account and your data. We will honour this unless the law requires us to keep certain records.
- You can object to how we use your information if you believe it is not being used fairly.
- You can lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa if you feel your rights have not been respected.
To use any of these rights, send an email to [emailprotected] with the subject line "Privacy Request". We will respond to you within 30 days.
8. How long we keep your data
- We keep your account information for as long as your account is active, plus five years after you close it to meet tax requirements.
- We keep your booking and payment records for five years from the date of each transaction.
- If you apply for a job, we keep your application for twelve months from the date you submitted it.
- For employees, performance records are kept for twenty four months and then converted into anonymous team statistics.
9. Security
We use strong security measures to protect your data. Every connection to our site is encrypted. Your password is stored in a secure scrambled format. We use individual authentication tokens and strict access controls so only the right people can see your information. Cloudflare's global security network adds another layer of protection against attacks. We take your security seriously because we know you are trusting us with your personal details.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make important changes to this policy, we will let you know with a banner on our website at least fourteen days before the changes take effect. You can always check the "Last updated" date at the top of this page to see the current version.
11. Contact
Your privacy matters to us and we want you to feel confident about how we handle your information. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us.
