Our Master Practice Modules is a 6-month immersion programme designed to change how you understand electronics. You are not sitting in a lecture hall taking notes. You are on the workshop floor observing Master Craftsmen and performing hands on repairs on stoves, fridges, washing machines, and more.
When you finish the 6 months, you are guaranteed entry into our 4-year Apprenticeship Programme. As an apprentice, you earn R4,500 per month while you continue learning. At the end, you write the National Trade Test and become a legally certified artisan.

Accountability Culture Built Into Your Training
Accountability is not a separate test you take after the Master Practice Modules. It is woven into every day of your training from the moment you start. You do not learn accountability by reading a document. You learn it by practicing it daily for 6 months.
From week 1 you are taught to show up on time, document every repair honestly, take ownership of your mistakes, and ask for help when you need it. Your Master Craftsman holds you to this standard every day. When you make a mistake you do not hide it. You report it, you learn from it, and you fix it.
This is how we build the accountability culture that defines Zibuke OnCall. By the time you complete the 6-month programme, accountability is not something you think about. It is simply how you work. You carry this habit into the 4-year Apprenticeship Programme and then into your career as a certified artisan.
When you become an apprentice, you do not go through a separate Accountability Assessment. You have already proven your character through 6 months of daily demonstration. Your portfolio of repairs, your honesty in documenting mistakes, and your consistency in showing up are your proof.
What Accountability Means in Practice: You arrive at the workshop on time every day. You log every repair you attempt including the ones you could not complete. You admit when you break a part and you help find a solution. You do not blame tools or other people. You own your results. This is not a policy. It is the standard you agree to when you join the Master Practice Modules.
Your 6-Month Journey
Each month builds on the last. You start with the basics and progress to independent troubleshooting. By month 6 you are diagnosing and repairing appliances on your own under Master supervision.
Workshop safety induction, tool handling, and observing Master Craftsmen on basic electrical fault finding. Introduction to electric stoves, replacing heating elements, switches, and terminal block wiring.
Electric ovens, diagnosing thermostats, replacing fan motors, understanding oven wiring schematics. Microwave ovens, high voltage safety protocols, testing magnetrons, replacing door interlock switches.
Disassembling chassis, inspecting motor carbon brushes, replacing drive belts. Diagnosing water inlet valves, drain pumps, and basic electronic control board observation.
Understanding the refrigeration cycle, testing compressor terminals, replacing start relays. Brazing techniques, gas leak detection, replacing defrost heaters and bi-metal thermostats.
Repairing kettles, toasters, and blenders. Practicing rapid component-level soldering. Cross-appliance diagnostics using multimeters and insulation resistance testers across all observed appliance types.
Independent troubleshooting on faulty appliances. Advanced practical assessments with full teardowns and reassemblies. Logbook and evidence compilation. Final evaluation and Master Craftsman approval for transition into the 4-year paid Apprenticeship Programme.

How Payments Work
- Step 1: You pay R950 application fee when you submit your application. This fee is non-refundable once we begin reviewing your application, whether it is approved or rejected. If we cancel the programme before processing your application, you receive a full refund.
- Step 2: If the Master approves your application, you pay R4,000 to secure your workshop placement. This unlocks your Learner Portal where you access course materials and start documenting your learning.
- Step 3: At the end of month 1 you pay your first installment of R3,200. This repeats at the end of months 2, 3, 4, and 5.
- Option: Instead of steps 2 and 3 you can pay R17,500 upfront. This waives the R4,000 registration fee and gives you immediate full access to your Learner Portal. You save R2,500.
- Important: Application fees are R950 and are non-refundable once we begin reviewing your application. Registration fees are R4,000 and are refundable only if Zibuke OnCall cancels your placement. Installment payments of R3,200 are due at the end of each month from month 1 to month 5. Late payments may result in suspension of portal access until the account is brought up to date.
Legal Compliance Notice: The law prohibits institutions from falsely advertising and issuing their own National Qualifications. The Master Practice Modules is an internal Workplace Preparation programme. It is not a formal NQF qualification. The ultimate accreditation is granted by the State when you pass the National Trade Test at the end of the 4-year Apprenticeship Programme. The evidence you gather in your Learner Portal serves as the required logbook and workplace evidence to apply for the trade test via the Apprenticeship or Recognition of Prior Learning pathways. Zibuke OnCall operates within full legal compliance.
Your Journey Step by Step
You Apply
You submit your application below with your details and proof of Grade 9 or higher. You pay the R950 application fee. The Master reviews your application. If you meet the requirements you are accepted.
You Register
Once accepted you pay the R4,000 registration fee to secure your workshop placement. This unlocks your Learner Portal where you can access theory notes and connect with your assigned Master Craftsman.
You Complete the 6-Month Programme
You attend the workshop, observe Master Craftsmen, and perform hands on repairs. Each month covers a different appliance type. You document everything in your Learner Portal with photos, notes, and voice recordings. You track your progress with a visual month counter.
You Are Approved as an Apprentice
After month 6 the Master evaluates your portfolio and approves your transition into the 4-year Apprenticeship Programme. You now earn R4,500 per month while continuing to learn and prepare for the National Trade Test.
You Become a Certified Artisan
After 4 years of apprenticeship you write and pass the National Trade Test. You are now a legally certified Electronic Appliance Repair Artisan recognised by the State. Your career is secured for life.
